Did you know that there are children out there who can’t enjoy most of the candy given out on Halloween? This is because they have a genetic disorder called Glycogen Storage Disease!

What is Glycogen Storage Disease?

Glycogen Storage Disease or GSD for short is a genetic metabolic disorder that will affect 1 out of 43,000 in the world. There are multiple types of GSD, all with some form of enzymatic deficiency in the metabolic process. GSD is currently classified as rare disease and lacks most forms of large funding by individuals and corporations. Most all funds that are raised for this disorder is done on a grassroots level by the families that this disorder affects.
